Thanks to everyone for your support while we finished BE THE MEDIA. We are launching the book this month!

Below is a quick update of our activities this past year:

David Mathison delivered the keynote address at the Alliance for Community Media - West conference in Denver, Colorado (see picture at left).

Mathison was invited to attend Ithaca College's inaugural Symposium on Independent Media at the Park Center for Independent Media.

In June, we had a very successful soft launch of the galley (the "uncorrected proof") at the following book conferences:

Book Expo America: David Mathison signed books next to Ray Bradbury, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ernest Borgnine, Dr Ruth Westheimer, and Professor Robert Thurman.

Publishers Marketing Association: Mathison taught an advanced track class on Web 2.0 tools, and participated in "Ask The Expert" sections.

Galleys went to attendees of the Academic Research for Media Reform Symposium, the Allied Media Conference, and the Alliance for Community Media national conference.

Due to overwhelming demand, more than 600 galleys were distributed to journalists, reviewers, and the press.

The result? BE THE MEDIA got rave reviews and endorsements, with many more to come!

Biography:

David Mathison is a media consultant, speaker, high-tech entrepreneur, and author and publisher of BE THE MEDIA. From 1998-2002 he was founder and CEO of the Kinecta Corporation, a syndication services provider whose customers included Fidelity Investments, The Economist, Financial Times, Reuters, the Red Herring, and MSNBC, among many others. At Kinecta, Mathison raised $30 million in under two years. Kinecta is now part of Oracle. From 1994-1999 Mathison was Vice President with Reuters, where he pioneered online content syndication. Mathison earned his Masters degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in 1995.
